Disney Animated Films Bracket 2019

Prepare yourself. What lies at the bottom of this post will cause you to question relationships with those you love. It may even cause you to question what kind of person you are. This is the Disney Animated Films Bracket. 82 years, 64 movies, only 1 winner.   (Take that Buzzfeed).

And because I am expecting a significant amount of smoke for some of the seedings in the bracket, here is a little bit of insight into the seeding methodology:

  • This bracket contains movies created by Disney Animation Studios or Disney in conjunction with Pixar.
  • Movies have to be feature-length, theatrical releases to qualify.
  • Seedings were determined using a composite score that equally weights…
    • Inflation Adjusted Gross Domestic Box Office Earnings
    • Rotten Tomatoes Critics Score

A few other notes (because I know I will get questions):

  • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh has been excluded because it is the combination of four shorts that were released prior to its theatrical release.
  • The Goofy Movie seems like a glaring omission. I get that. Trust that it is not. It didn’t get scored well by critics and virtually no one saw it in theaters. I know, I know. It is not fair.
  • Other movies that were omitted (and the reason why):
    • The Black Cauldron (low critics score and box office)
    • Oliver & Company (low critics score)
    • Treasure Planet (low box office)
    • Brother Bear (low critics score)
    • Home on the Range (low critics score and box office)
    • Cars 2 (low critics score)
    • Winnie the Pooh (2011) (low box office)
